Vinteren Er Her!

Yesterday morning, the snow began.
This was the scene outside the Center.

This morning, we woke up to this beautiful scene.

A morning walk in the snowy woods.
Look, they even scrape the walking paths!

It was so peaceful!

I came home to this scene.
Couldn't resist - threw snowballs
at my companion.

Do you want to build a snowman?

Welcome to Winter in Kristiansand!

Mission Conference in Bergen

Jim and I flew to Bergen last week for a mini vacation.  It really was for a mission conference with Elder Kopischke, but it was like a little vacation! We are so blessed to be able to travel to these conferences, mingle with the young missionaries, feel the special spirit there, as well as get to know our fellow senior couples better.  Elder Kopischke used to be in the area presidency but I believe he is a Seventy on the missionary committee now.  He was great! The missionaries asked him questions and he answered them with scriptures, personal stories and counsel from the Apostles.  He told us that one can only learn if one is ready, has questions and asks them.  I really liked his answer to one question concerning knowing if our answers really come from our Heavenly Father.  He said  that once we receive the Holy Ghost, then we can ask and receive guidance.  We need to ponder in our hearts, FEAST upon the words of Christ and the Spirit will come and give direction.  I quote him, "You will never get a million dollar answer from a 5 cent prayer."  In other words, we need to do our part first, then ask for answers.  The spirit will show unto us, all that we need to do.  I love that promise!!

Sister Alphin, (Elder Alphin was transporting leaders to the airport),
Sister and Elder Rappleye, Sister and Elder Nelson,
Sister and Elder Crabtree,
Sister and Elder Storheim; Sister and Elder Whittaker.

The weather in Bergen was a little stormy but not too bad.  The Crabtrees, the Storheims and the Rappleyes were excited to see sunlight.  They serve way up north and only have about 1 hour of semi/sunlight each day.  I think the sun shone a little for them.

Bergen is a beautiful city, famous for its unique architecture,
museums, fish markets and wharf, (bryggen).

We spent most of our P-day, before the conference,
strolling along bryggen and going into a couple
museums.
